Afinar and Songsterr
This isn’t really a comparison. Songsterr is one of the sites Afinar opens, logins and all. What Songsterr gives you is a million tabs and the real recording behind them. What it can’t give you is a recording of you. That’s the part Afinar adds.
What Songsterr does, and does well.
A catalogue of over a million tabs, with the original audio synced to the notation. Plus adds speed, looping, solo and mute, pitch shift, downloads, and AI transcription from a YouTube link. It’s a genuinely good product and Afinar has no catalogue of its own.
Keep the subscription. Afinar isn’t a replacement for it.
What Afinar adds on top.
A recorder. Songsterr has no way to record you playing along. Afinar takes your instrument through an amp rig, mixes it with the song straight from Songsterr’s own player, and files the recording under that tab. That is the whole difference in one sentence.
Your own sound. Plug into an interface and monitor through real amp captures while you play, instead of listening to yourself unamplified against a record.
Everything else you practise from. Your PDFs, your Guitar Pro files, a lesson video, sheet music you bought. Songsterr is its catalogue. Afinar is whatever you already use, in one library, all of it recordable.
No subscription for the app itself. Afinar is $24.99 once. Your Songsterr Plus subscription buys the catalogue, and that’s a separate thing you’re paying for.
